For the third year running, Berlin is the capital of Christmas bargain hunters: The Federal compare consumers get the most for your money here. Low prices are in North Rhine-Westphalia. In southern Germany, however, citizens must clearly dig deeper into their pocket, they want to pay the same. These are the results of a survey of price portal guenstiger.de under 13 000 business in the 50 largest German cities, where were the highlight of the holiday shopping season, the prices of today’s most popular products queries.
Germany’s cheapest big cities no gap between East and West
Also in the Ruhr area, it can be relatively cheap shopping: Hagen occupies second place in the list of bargain cities, Hamm fourth and fifth in Mülheim an der Ruhr. In the south of the Republic, it is however more expensive: Freiburg occupies position 42, 49 Karlsruhe, 44th, 45th Munich, Augsburg place Nuremberg is nationwide with 50th place as the most expensive major city for Christmas shopping. Between old and new states can be based on the other hand, the survey identified a gap: In East and West, there is expensive and cheap Pavement. The portal will show two examples of how big the price difference can be sometimes. For example, a certain LCD TV will cost at the time of the survey of a Düsseldorf dealer € 1,900 – in Wilhelmshaven, however only 1200 €. In online trading, customers must pay even once about 100 € less. Even if it is a smartphone a tremendous margin: A Bocholter dealer offers on a specific device for 350 euros, in a Hamburg business customers have to shell out 630 € on the other hand, almost doubled.
